Rénald is a Principal in the Quilvest Private Equity team. He has 13+ years of experience working with corporate boards, management teams, family-owned businesses and Private Equity investors on performance improvement, M&A triggered transformation and investment programs.
His current focus at Quilvest Private Equity is on advising leading top-tier families across the globe to achieve their goals through tailor-made solutions and a long-term partnership approach. Some recent assignments he led include the long-term ambition definition (5-10 years) of a family business, the set-up of a Private Equity platform (investment strategy, key economics and incentives, governance, organization) for a family investment holding, the design and the implementation of a Family Office (mission and objectives, asset allocation, process review, staffing).
Prior to joining Quilvest Private Equity in early 2018, Rénald was a Senior Director at Alvarez & Marsal where he led various assignments in Europe (operational due diligences, financial and operational transformation programs, organizational and governance reviews, change management, post-merger integrations, etc.) across a wide range of industries including retail, food, entertainment, real estate, industrials, insurance, business services and automotive applications.
From 2009 to 2012, Rénald was the Chief of Staff to the CEO of MetLife in Western Europe. As a member of its Executive Committee, he was in charge of M&A, strategic planning and communication.
Rénald started his career in Private Equity at Macquarie Capital in 2007 in New York, where he worked on a large number of LBO opportunities (upper middle market) including bolt-on acquisitions in the US and in Europe, and debt terms renegotiations.
Rénald earned an MSc in Management from EM Lyon Business School as well as a MBA from INSEAD, during which he spent the summer as a Visiting Associate working for Booz Allen Hamilton.
He is married with two children.
