Marc Nasser Tavakolian

Marc joined Quilvest’s Business Development team (Quamvest) late 2018. He brings 18 years of experience in developing and managing relationships with Family Offices and Institutions across Europe with a focus on the DACH region and in the conception of tailor-made investment solutions across equities, fixed income, commodities and currencies.

Marc started his career as an Equity Derivatives sales for listed products for the German, Austrian and South African retail market at Société Générale’s Corporate and Investment Bank. His position evolved into sales of Structured Products and Exotic Flow to large Institutional Investors and Private Banks.

Six years later, Marc moved to Exane BNP Paribas to help develop a Cross Asset investment franchise in Europe (excluding France). Attention was paid to Private Banks and Family Offices as natural partners for research-based solutions and alternative investments. Together with his team Marc took active part in the creation of thematic equity-baskets, tailor-made fixed income notes, and the launch of one of the world’s first VIX (volatility) index-linked notes.

Spending a year at Chenavari Investment Managers after five years at Exane BNP Paribas Marc added fundraising experience in the alternative investment universe while advising clients on the firm’s Structured Credit hedge funds.

In 2012, Marc returned to Société Générale to lead the Business Development efforts within Global Markets, in Germany and in the UK, focusing on three clients segments: Sovereign Wealth Funds, Family Offices and Holding companies. Marc and the team’s role was to advise clients and to create bespoke cross asset investment solutions, share financing and strategic equity stake management.

Marc holds an MBA in Finance from University of Cologne, Germany, and is fluent in five languages. He is married with two children.
